18.12.1939 | Sunk by enemy aircraft 17 miles NE from Rattray Head while outward bound from Granton to the fishing grounds . Two crew were drowned and a third died from exposure. Skipper D. Young & rest of crew were picked up by a Danish schooner " Start " (131g/1918) from Marstal and landed in Egersund Norway. Casualties David Addison Chief Engineer & William Murray fireman drowned. Robert Wright cook died from cold and exposure after rescue. |
